You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers! Our volunteer Agents are on the job! Here’s what they have to say this week….
Question: Do you have any magazines that your teens/tweens check out at an amazing pace?
Jenni (South San Francisco Public Library) says:
Our tweens/teens don’t actually check out many magazines. We used to subscribe to quite a few different magazines, but we’ve stopped the subscriptions because the tweens/teens don’t read the magazines at the same pace as adults.
Natalie (Farmingdale Public Library) says:
Our magazines don’t circulate, but the ones that I am constantly fixing and putting away are AP (Alternative Planet), Slam, and Teen Vogue.
Paige (Lethbridge Public Library) says:
My library has about 10 different magazines for teens. At one branch, they’re in a separate spot in the Teen Zone; in the other branch, they’re interfiled with the adult magazines. (purely for space reasons) The biggies for us are J-14, Twist, Girls’ Life, and Mad. We also have a few creative writing magazines which circ regularly to certain patrons, but I wouldn’t say they go like a house on fire. For that, it’s definitely the celeb mags.
