Ella and Z are best friends. They’ve been friends since they were little, but being bullied at school has only bonded them more closely. Z is considered the “weird kid”, who who has an elaborate fantasy life where he is a knight and Ella is the fair maiden; one that has completely taken over his life. Ella, on the other hand, is called Camo Face because she has mottled skin, or skin that is different shades of brown.

But when new kid, Bailey James, appears things start to change. Bailey and Ella start to form a friendship, one that is slowly pulling her into the popular crowd. The only problem? Z is less than happy about this new friendship and is definitely not welcomed at the popular table. Ella is now faced with a difficult decision – remain loyal to the boy who has been her best and only friend for years, or pass up the opportunity to be one of the popular kids that she has always longed to be.
