Willow Chance is a bit of an outside. She’s a 12-year-old genius obsessed with nature, diagnosing medical condition, and counting by 7s. In fact, she’s so smart that gets a perfect score on a standardized test which lands her counseling because everyone is sure she cheated. This may seem bad, especially since Dell Duke is not great at his job, but ends up leading to two new friends, Mai and Quang-Ha. When tragedy strikes, killing both of her parents in a freak accident, Mai, Quang-Ha, their mother, and Dell Duke are her saving grace and the only ones stopping her from ending up a ward of the state. These virtual strangers rearrange everything to help Willow push through her grief. Together, they learn they have the power to make great and wonderful changes together…and maybe, just maybe, become Willow’s new forever family.
