Books and video games are often presented on two different sides of the coin, with those from either camp standing firmly on their ground. As someone who enjoys books as well as games, and as a female gamer, this is often a tough battle for me, in trying to convince people to try something new from a genre they don’t often experience. Thankfully, over the past couple years, there have been some great games that I feel can appeal to the readers and gamers of ya. Here are a few of my favorites!
Theme: Mutants / Contemporary / Diverse Lead Character
Game: Infamous Second Son
Book: Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson
Theme: Pandemic Infection / Survival
Game: The Last of Us
Book: The Girl with All The Gifts by M.R. Carey
Theme: The Butterfly Effect/Parallel Worlds
Game: Life Is Strange*
Books: Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke, Just Like Fate by Cat Patrick and Suzanne Young
Theme: Zombies and Humanity
Game: The Walking Dead by Telltale*
Book: Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
